MEthio Valbuena said he is “ready to turn the page” on Tuesday 7 June on RMC Sports, after Karim Benzema’s decision to drop his appeal in a “sexual” trial. “It’s a chapter coming to an end. It’s true that I’m also tired of all that and I’ve suffered a lot. I’ve been punished a lot on a sporting level and this chapter is finally ending,” said the former Marseille. “I have absolutely no grudge and always said what I had to say. These are tough times that I have been able to recover from. Now everyone is on their way,” added the former midfielder, saying that Benzema “deserves” the Ballon d’Or.
The Versailles Criminal Court sentenced Karim Benzema to a suspended year in prison and a fine of 75,000 euros in the first instance for complicity in an attempted extortion of facts dating back to 2015. Karim Benzema appealed and should have been tried again the next day. June 30 and July 1 by the Versailles Court of Appeal. Finally quit overnight from Friday to Saturday.
