Tashkent (VNA) – Vietnam’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Dang Minh Khoi, held a series of talks with Uzbek ministries and sectors from June 7-10 in Tashkent to enhance the multifaceted cooperative relations between the two countries.

During these meetings, the two parties expressed their desire to increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, which currently stands at $135 million.

During the June 8 meeting with the First Deputy Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Azim Akhmad Khadjayev, and representatives of the Uzbekneftegaz Oil and Gas Company, the two sides discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the field of oil and gas, in particular, the possibility of Vietnam. For exploration and exploitation of oil and gas in Uzbekistan.

During the June 9 meeting with the First Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Education of Uzbekistan, Komiljon Karimov, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi emphasized that Vietnam is ready to serve as a bridge between Uzbekistan and the Asia-Pacific region with Southeast Asia, and cooperation is the highest Teaching the Vietnamese language in universitiesUzbekistan.

During the working session held on June 10 with Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Abdul-Samt Muminov, the two sides discussed strengthening cooperation in the field of transport between the two countries. In particular, the officials raised the possibility of the national airline of Vietnam – Vietnam Airlines – to open direct flights to Uzbekistan to promote trade and tourism, as well as to strengthen links with neighboring regions.

During the working session with Uzbek Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Badruddin Abidov, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi discussed possibilities of cooperation such as building an instant noodle factory in Uzbekistan, or cooperation in agriculture and aquaculture. Deputy Minister Badrin Abidov expressed the hope that Vietnam would help train agricultural experts for Uzbekistan, and said that the two sides should form a working group to promote cooperation and investment projects quickly.

Finally, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi also worked with the Vice President of the Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI), Zakhongir Mamazinov, Chairman of the Committee on National Relations and Friendship with Foreign Countries in the Government of Uzbekistan, Rustambek Kurbanov. – VNA
