In his next fight in the UFC, Dan Hooker is looking to take on “El Cucuy”, Tony Ferguson.

Dan Hooker, now 32, is coming off a TKO loss to Arnold Allen that came upon his return to the featherweight division this past March. Since then, Hooker said he plans to return to light weights.

The Oakland native seems to have his eyes set on one person in particular, none other than Tony Ferguson. In fact, “The Hangman” recently challenged “El Cucuy” on social networks.

Logical confrontation?

The clash between these two men might make sense given the dynamics of their careers. In fact, both lightweight teams have struggled in their recent rounds, but they are still big names in the division.

A fight between Hooker and Ferguson could be very popular among fans. They both give a lot of their person to the octagon and seem ready to go to war at any time.

Also, Dan Hooker like Tony Ferguson loves to stand and trade amazingly, so that might just spark some sparks.

Among the light heavyweights, Dan Hooker (21-12) has lost 3 of his last 4 fights. In fact, in 2020, he was defeated by Dustin Poirier after a massive war. In 2021, the New Zealander suffered a major TKO against Michael Chandler. Finally, after making the unanimous decision to defeat Haqprast victory, he suffered another loss to Islam Makhachev at UFC 267.

Meanwhile, Tony Ferguson (25-7) is going through a 4-game losing streak and coming out with a defeat to Chandler who inflicted him with a big knockout. Prior to that, he suffered two unanimous losses to Benil Dariush and Charles Oliveira, after suffering a massive KO/TKO loss in 2020 to Justin Gaethje for the interim belt. His last win came in June 2019 against Donald Cerrone.
